More Time to Craft!
Joy is defined as a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. We all experience joy in different ways but narrowing down on the things that bring us joy and peace can change every aspect of our life. My family, friends, pets, (wildlife in general), plants, being outside and knowing the laundry is done for the week are a few examples of things that bring me joy. However, the urge to create is one of the things that brings me joy {AND} inner peace. So that is the “adventure” I am constantly seeking. It is important to note though, that we have to plan time and take steps each day so…

Bible review and a little knitting too!
August.. August the first marks the day when my inner child wants to run out and buy everything and anything with a pumpkin on it. However, let me remind you this momma is in the great state of Alabama where August has scorching temps and humidity that makes you feel you are in a sauna that follows you everywhere. I can not say that the weather brings me to those happy fall thoughts that I love nor does it really make me want to pick up my needles or hooks. However I have managed to make a pair of knitted knockers to donate to the local breast cancer support group…

How do you morning??
I love an easy project to work on while I eat my breakfast and wake up. I always have one mindless knitting project and one mindless crochet one going all the time. I find its easier for me to knit in the movies but a mindless crochet gets me thinking more in the morning. I am currently working on another Rainbow Ripple Baby Blanket. Its a free pattern on Ravelry and can be found here. The yarn I am using is the Lion Brand Mandala Baby in the Pixie Hollow color. I wanted to try this out and see which I like more Mandala regular or the Baby. Well its…

Do you have quiet time each day?
I am a firm believer in taking a few moments each day to gather your thoughts, quiet your mind and just to unwind. I tend to have two different “times” a day. There is what I call TAG “Time Alone With God” it is just being alone without distractions and reading a devotional passage. I also have a quiet time which is knitting, coloring anything to just ponder your thoughts and calm your mind. Both of these can even be seen as a form of meditation where you focus your energy on something positive. I like to mix my quiet time up and TAG time, some days just sit in completely quietness…

How does Color inspire you? (This post contains a spoiler of the Voyager MKAL from Jimmy Beans Clue 1)
Color is so inspiring and so daunting at the same time. It is everywhere and can make or break a project. It allows us to stay in our comfort zone or can break us free. It can brighten our mood or bring it down. Colors can also be used to define us and they can be things that represent our soul. I tend to think my colors of that of Fall. I am not a huge summer person or spring for that matter but when fall comes I feel like my soul comes alive and the inspiration flows. There are some many ways we can use color in our projects.…

Knit the Sky
I recently got this amazing book from Storey Publishing by Lea Redmond called Knit the Sky. The book is written in an interesting way, it is not your typical pattern book. Lea has written this amazing creative adventure for you and your yarn to go on. The book has many different projects and while there is not a written pattern it is written in a way to direct you in a creative process. If that was interesting enough there is a pattern stitch guide in the back of the book with 10 stitches like bobbles, ribs and the raspberry stitches. There is also a techniques guide that covers joining like…

Hats Of To Our Troops!
Its been about 10 days from my last post and I am almost to tired to write this today but I hate being behind…It is a early Monday morning here in Alabama. The boys are eating breakfast and soon we will be in the car taking the “kindergartner” to school. Today he has a short week since they are out Friday. The weather here is been a little cooler the last 2 days and I am loving every minute of it. The leaves are starting to change and fall to the ground with each little breeze. This week will be a short week for me since I get to go…

RAK
I am sure you know what RAK is. If not then let me tell you, it stands for random act of kindness. There are many many different ways to do random acts of kindness. You can buy coffee for a co-worker, buy the meal of the person behind you, even just put 2 dollars towards their bill. You can even do things that will not cost you a dime. You could smile as someone walks by, open a door for someone… let the mom with the baby go in front of you at the check out line. You may be asking yourself why do things for others… well its pretty…

DotMom
I am not sure if you heard and maybe you don’t even care but I am going to tell you anyways… I LOVE my god. He is an amazing God! I also LOVE he made me a mom and he has blessed me to have my mom close by. So last year I had heard about DOTMOM its a Bible conference with some of my favorite authors. You get freebies, there is shopping, there are Bible studies, it is a mini vacation for women and more importantly other women who have the same beliefs as I do. In Ephesians 4:3 and Ephesians 4:13 it talks abut the “Unity of Spirit”…

What color say about you? 4KCBWDAY4
picture from Bing I love color and it just so happens that is the topic for today’s blog challenge. I have made a little board on pinterest regarding color change and colors I Love. However you can also look at my Fiber Love board to see more color and all its wonder. My color love has changed over the years which is funny when you look at the meanings of the colors. In the past I was a green/blue girl. If you look at the chart you will see Greens/Blues represent with calmness, peace, balance…. I guess that’s how I felt before kids.. Now that I have two little men…
