An Owlie For Abby
Cancer is never fun and for children is is down right scary. We have a family that has been stricken with cancer in one form or another. My son attends school with a little girl named Abby. Abby is your normal 7 year old that loves to play softball. On April 30,2014 her life was forever changed. She was diaginosed with acute lymohoblastic leukemia. I wanted to make her a little something to show her she was in our prayers and in our hearts. I found out she likes owls so a owl cap seemed like the perfect fit. For the pattern I used a Crochet Owl Hat from Sarah…

Finished Objects Parade On
Parade on Little Sheep Parade On… I was a busy girl last month. This month not so much. I love spring don’t get me wrong I love seeing all the birds again and all the pretty flowers. However, with all the comes my arch Nemesis “Pollen”. Pollen is my Kryptonite. IT can take me down fast. I have been nothing but watery red eyes, snotty nose and that dry cough that makes you sound like a dying seal. Since my last post I have finished some objects. First I finished another square from the Harmony Knit and Purl book. I talked about the book before. It is filled with stitches…

Herimone Heartgoblin
Let me introduce you to Hermione. She is based of a pattern from Stacey Trock called Sparkie The Monster. The original pattern is a very cute little monster. However for Valentines Day Stacey challenged her Ravelry group to take one of her patterns and use it with her Heart Pattern . Hermione is what I came up with. I made a few modifications to the Sparkie pattern, created a dress for her and added the heart for her ears and antenna. Bellow I tried to write down with the modifications I had made. I hope they make sense to you and if they do not let me know and I will…

The end of a year and a New Beginning
I am sitting in my living room this morning. Its 8:13am which is funny because my hubby believes that is his magic number. He says every time he looks at the clock during the day is says 813. He is goofy and I love him. The boys are in the den playing with their Christmas presents and watching some cartoons. My darling hubby is working this morning trying to finish a house (we own a gutter business) but I expect he will be home soon since I see the rain starting to drip on our Auburn flag on the front porch. It is a rather gloomy day outside and despite…

I saw a leaf fall, then November was gone.
The weather is a funny thing is Alabama. There was cool days, a few nights of overnight freezes, a week of 70’s and now I am sitting here once again with a fire burning. It is mid 40’s outside but going to 30’s tonight. I have so much to do still before December. I did start to decorate last week, but not the trees yet. I always do the trees the day after black Friday. Did you notice I said TREES as in more than one… try 6! One big one in our living room, a 7 foot in the den, the boys each have their own tree, one in…

Operation Christmas Child
I love the organization Samaritan’s Purse. You can read about it here. They do a shoebox drive every year at this time. The shoe boxes get filled with toys and essentials for kids and then are shipped around the world. We do boxes every year and last year we paid the $7 and had the box tracked. we were able to see the city in which the boxes got delivered. One of ours went to India and the other went to South Africa. It was very exciting! You can read about the boxes here. You can read about what to pack and see our boxes from last year by clicking…

The boys are eating breakfast and soon we will be in the car taking the “kindergartner” to school. Today he has a short week since they are out Friday. The weather here is been a little cooler the last 2 days and I am loving every minute of it. The leaves are starting to change and fall to the ground with each little breeze.
