Coat Tree?? Why not a Bag Tree???

Do you solve problems in your sleep? I know I do. Often my best ideas come to me in dreams. I had pulled my sons changing table to my craft room for storage after getting him potty trained…. OK lets stop and do a celebration dance here… no more diapers or pull ups in this house!! So the changing table was holding project bags, knit washing bucket, blocking boards and a pillow for Bailey to lay on. The problem it was blocking my window and a different color wood than everything else and stood out and said “Hello I am the old changing table in your room” every time I…

    I am Cowl-azy

I have been bitten by the cowl bug. No not the buzzing kind that flies around livestock but the fun kind of knitting. I love scarfs don’t get me wrong but when you have small kids and you need something you can grab as you are walking at the door to throw on and keep you warn a cowl is the way to go. Cowls also do not come done fro around you neck and fall in to the sink or toilet.. come on you know its happened to you too 🙂 The first one I made was the ever so popular Gaptastic Cowl. Since I used Plymouth Yarn Baby…

    Tigers and Babies.. OH My!!!

Now that the baby show is over I can share a newborn set I made from a friend… there is not really a pattern so i will share the recipe with you. For the hat I crocheted a 3.75 inch diameter circle before i started just straight crocheting in the round. I switched colors with each round and crocheted over the tails as i went along. I made the length of the hat around 5.8 inches from crown to tip. The ears I honestly can not remember lol I think i crocheted 6 hdc in a magic loop then did a combo of sl st, sc, dc, trc, dc, sc,…

    Glassy White Walkers

I love Game of Thrones... it is a very graphic show but I have always been drawn to shows regarding the medieval times. I am love vikings but that is a whole other thing 🙂 In Game of Thrones there are these creatures the White Walkers. they are like a race of humans that have passed/been turned into a icy monster so to speak… I love the blues of the White walkers and the darker lines and I wanted a sock to reflect that… The Knit Picks yarn was perfect… **Notes:**~~~ I am using the leg chart of the Eisern pattern to represent the lines of the white walkers..…

    Claude wears Clothes

I love cute little monsters and I love Rebecca Dangers Big Book of Knitted Monsters. Rebecca’s patterns are not only well written but the little “stories” of her monsters are cute as well… you will not be sad with this book. I have made a version of Claude which is the big green monster on the back row  of the cover. You can see him here on his Ravelry page. The book retails $18.99 but is on Sale for $15.08. You can grab your own copy of the book here. I made Claude for my son. He is a Kindergarten graduate this year and I always have called him my…

    An Owlie For Abby

Cancer is never fun and for children is is down right scary. We have a family that has been stricken with cancer in one form or another. My son attends school with a little girl named Abby. Abby is your normal 7 year old that loves to play softball. On April 30,2014 her life was forever changed. She was diaginosed with acute lymohoblastic leukemia. I wanted to make her a little something to show her she was in our prayers and in our hearts. I found out she likes owls so a owl cap seemed like the perfect fit. For the pattern I used a Crochet Owl Hat  from Sarah…

I would love to say that my Darling Hubby agrees with the wonderful ideas and gave me the big OK to get one but that would be a huge lie. So whats a girl to do??? Hitch ~ Designs inspired by the Alfred Hitchcock Films

I have been working on the same project pretty much the entire month of may.. It was however my first time to use nothing but charts. the hat is called Exakta by Stephannie Tallent. It is a pattern from the new Hitch book. It is a wonderful book filled with patterns inspired by the Alfred Hitchcock Films. There is even a matching cowl that can be found on Craftsy called the Exakta Cowl. The Hat is worked in the round and has a cabled design with windows. Every one of the windows is designed to have a different pattern inside of it. It is actually a very easy pattern to follow. I am an…
